Australian wins as conditions deteriorate by Howard Swanwick

29/09/2007:// Mick Fanning (Tweed Heads, NSW, Australia) (pictured) claimed victory in the final of the Quiksilver Pro in Hossegor, France today.

As wave size decreased the competition was relocated to Les Bordaines where Fanning was up against fellow Australian Troy Brooks in Semi final two. Winning that heat, he came up against South African Greg Emslie where he went on to post the second highest heat total of the event with an 18.43 (out of a possible 20).
