The Festival happens over 4 days in venues in and around Falmouth, with over 150 short films and five new features from Cornish filmmakers, this year is the biggest and best yet. The Festival also acts as a forum for local filmmakers to market their films at prearranged meetings and social events giving them the opportunity to discuss future projects and forge new collaborations with industry professionals from all over the UK.
Special event
Board Shorts 2007 Friday 9th November, 8pm - late One of the most successful events of last year’s Festival was Board Shorts that took place at The Blue Bar, Porthtowan. This year, Board Shorts 2007, the UK's premier surf film event builds on this previous success and is one of the ‘not to be missed’ programmes of the Festival.
Join us at the Sandsifter, Godrevy Towans, Hayle, for a fruity fusion of film, video and stills; masterfully blended with live music, giveaways and topped with the eagerly anticipated 'September' book launch.
Contributors include: Mickey Smith, Chris Manell, Greg Martin, John Isaac, Christiaan Bailey, SAS, Shark Bay films, Mr B and others. There will be live music from 'Rosie and the Goldbug', plus DJ Dave Spencely as always airing an awsome array of tunes.
The evening is a special board sports themed event forming part of the Cornwall Film Festival 2007 www.cornwallfilmfestival.com and is generously supported by: Supertubes, Stranger, Truro College and Wavelength.
Entry to the event will be £4 on the door, first come first served, so get there early; screenings will begin at 8pm, (for film details please see page 2 of this release).
