08/06/2005:// Current European Longboard Champion Sam Bleakley has won the British Open title for the first time.
The Sennen surfer, who is recovering from a knee injury sustained while training in Noosa, surfed through the pain to take the title with his trade mark super smooth style.
In a close final held in glassy 3 foot surf at Fistral Beach, in Newquay, Bleakley edged out newly-crowned English Champion Ben Skinner, from Jersey.
