News Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day

The 22nd Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, is Saturday, September 16th, 2006 from 9 am to noon, and this year WiLDCOAST will be hosting two sites: Imperial Beach and the Silver Strand. by Ben McCue

28/08/2006:// CCD is a major part of an International Cleanup that includes all 50 states and almost 100 countries, making it one of the world’s largest volunteer events. Last year, 4,685 volunteers participated in the cleanup at nearly 60 coastal and inland sites, removing 209,789 pounds of trash and recyclables from San Diego County and Baja California beaches.

Volunteers are needed to help clean up our beaches! Individuals, families and groups are welcome to participate. Everyone under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent to participate. This is a fun way to get community service hours for school!!!
You can register online and download the waiver from:
www.cleanupday.org

Please remember to download the Waiver form, fill out and bring with you on Clean up day. This will save everyone time and effort. Just click on REGISTER on the upper part of the website and choose “Waiver” (PDF) It is very important to fill out completely and sign. For those bringing young children (2 yr +), a legal parent or guardian will need to sign for them.
Be sure to bring sunscreen and comfortable shoes. We'll provide water, gloves, bags and data cards.
