British Eurosport 2 broadcasts Rip Curl Pro WQS Series

13/08/2006:// In celebration of the 20th year of the Rip Curl Pro WQS Series, Eurosport’s production team will be on the famous beach at Hossegor, (Landes, France) for a European broadcast first.
The Rip Curl Pro Series is the highlight of the world surfing tour and the only Super Series event on the ASP professional tour, the sport’s international governing body. The competition, which is a stage of the 2006 World Championships, will showcase some of the worlds' greatest young surfers and produce a stunning viewing experience. The show will also provide a rare opportunity to see talented British surfer Russell Winter in action as he takes on the world’s best.
Jean-Patrick Mothes, presenter of Eurosport’s extreme sports magazine, Yoz, will be at the heart of the action to interview some of the world's greatest current and former surfing champions such as Tom Curren, Mick Fanning, Rob Machado as well as various other legends who will share with viewers the highs and lows of big-wave surfing.
This summer, Hossegor is the world surfing capital with this 20th edition of the Rip Curl Pro Series. Since its creation in 1987, the competition has continued to attract surfers and sports fans of all ages. British Eurosport 2 will retrace the history of the event and bring viewers the most thrilling images from some of the most treacherous waves off the Hossegor coast.

Some of the biggest and potentially costly upsets of the season went down today while Round 3 of the Beachley Classic
