News Water contact closure for South County beaches

Water contact closure for South County beaches following rain by Serge Dedina

21/02/2006:// The County of San Diego Department of Environmental Health has issued a water contact closure for the Border Field State Park and Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge ocean shorelines due to sewage-contaminated runoff from the Tijuana River. Field measurements indicate the recent rain caused flows in the Tijuana River to enter the United States and flow towards the Tijuana Estuary. Signs will remain in place until sample results indicate the ocean water is safe for recreational use.
