News ashortwalk launch an ECO range of tide clocks

[Eco tide clock]

ashortwalk are hoping its new range of ECO tide clocks will enable anyone to enjoy the ocean without it quite literally costing the earth by Howard Swanwick

16/09/2008:// ashortwalk, best known for their conventional tide clocks and more recently mobiletide: a tide clock for your phone, have added a unique set of ECO tide clocks to their range. Made from recycled vending machine coffee cups direct from the national Save-a-Cup scheme the tide clocks provide an innovative and convenient guide to tides. Simply set the tide hand at exactly high tide for your chosen location and that is it, the tide at a glance for ever more!

The entire range are hand crafted in the UK and can save up to a bin liner full of coffee cups from going to landfill with every product. The recycled coffee cup material has around half the carbon footprint to that of virgin material a solid, heavy, earthy feel very much like natural slate and around half the carbon footprint to that of virgin material.

Dan, the owner of ashortwalk mentions that "Recycled products offer a great opportunity for people to participate in the whole recycling loop". Dan explains: "At work buy a cup of coffee, drink the coffee, place the plastic cup in the recycling bin, then see if it’s 'play' time on your tide clock made from coffee cups the next week. The recycling loop has been closed."

Prices start from £24.95 and are available from outlets across the UK. See www.ashortwalk.com for more
