News Dare the Boss of Extreme – The countdown is on!
Two weeks have passed since the official launch of ExBrag
by Gemma Parkinson
26/03/2008:// ExBrag is the new ‘extreme’ focused web community by the guys behind the Extreme Sports Channel and Bragster, an online daring and betting website. To mark the launch Al Gosling, CEO of the Extreme Group put himself up for the challenge of a lifetime, to be dared by his own social community to take on any crazy stunt they magic up. Since then suggestions have been pouring in and now 5 final dares have been announced visit: http://www.exbrag.com/bet/9923-you-cant-dare
The online poll starts now and ends on the 27th March. The final dares are:
1. Being elevated across the Serpentine in Hyde Park by helium balloons wearing a 3 piece suit, George Banks style. 2. Walk down Oxford Street covered in goose fat and feathers with a surf board under his arm asking directions to the beach. 3. Skateboard around the financial district of London wearing a super hero costume shouting ‘I am the Extreme Dream.’ 4. Para-sailing over the channel. 5. Cross the Thames in a dingy with a megaphone signing nursery rhymes.
Other dares have included base jumping off the Gherkin, sky diving without a parachute, getting the ‘Virgin’ brand tattoo, and wing walking in a thong. So there you have it, the entrepreneur of a leading sports brand is being held to account by his own customers. Al Gosling comments on the dares ‘I was surprised by some of the crazy things people came up with especially the Virgin tattoo, I wonder if Richard Branson would get an Extreme one - Bring on the 1st April!’
ExBrag is a place to put your money where you mouth is, or in ExBrag’s case, your ‘Brag Bucks’. Dare your friends and be dared by others. It’s a web community of profiled users who all dare and bet each other to do crazy things and then post the evidence that their ‘quest’ has been achieved. If you carry out your ‘dare’ you receive Brag Bucks and online star status, why not brag about it! No money changes hand, just the self assurance that you are indeed the don. Mad dares and bets have included swimming in Trafalgar Square fountain, opening a joint bank account dressed as Gorillas, daring your mum to join, and betting that you will go to university in your underwear. Think of it like Jackass meets Facebook but better, a whole lot better.
There is the chance to win a whole load of free clothing & other goodies, enter competitions and meet a new group of people prepared to take your dare on. As the hunger for new, targeted social forums escalates, ExBrag answers the call. It combines both the community feel of a social network and the content appeal of YouTube. Dialogues and stories develop into a backdrop for each person and their dare. You can interact, challenge them, or join them and compete for Brag Bucks.
