03/03/2008:// Donavon Frankenreiter, the original surf-muso-meister, will headline the 10th anniversary of the GoldCoast Oceanfest on the mid-summers weekend, 20 21 22 June 2008.
Whilst the organisers frantically beaver away to finalise the remainder of the bill, one thing is for certain - Donavon's appearance will definitely dominate this years proceedings. Being a pro surfer for half of his life has left an evident mark on Donavon’s songwriting.
His mellow, groovy and upbeat songs serve up a genuine soulfulness that make you want to feel the sand beneath your feet and the salt on your skin. The two worlds are a perfect marriage for Donavon, as he says, “the surfing thing keeps me alive, and the music keeps me grounded.” A perfect fit for North Devon's GoldCoast too, solidifying that surf music connection which is so intrinsically linked to the Oceanfest.
