News Miss Surf Organic and Natural

[Debbie Zec by Shifi Surf Shots]

Debbie Zec wins most beautiful surf girl by Ellen Zoe Golden

03/03/2008:// Deserving of her own attention in a weekend of prolonged and intense competition last weekend at Playa Nosara’s Torneo Banco Nacional date of Costa Rica’s Circuito Nacional de Surf (CNS), professional surfer Debbie Zec was selected the most beautiful girl by the crowd and judges and, therefore crowned Miss Surf Organic & Natural of the date. She claimed the opportunity to compete against the girls from the other CNS dates--Alexandra Vasquez, Kimberly Bondurant, Guadalupe Solís, Michelle Arias, Jetsi Hernández and Marion Leroy—at the Reef Gran Finals in April for the overall Miss Surf Organic Natural!

Zec, a regular competitor of the CNS, made use of her natural inner and outer beauty to convince the audience and the judges that she was the most deserving young person of the $100 in cash, in addition to the attractive prizes that the sponsors gifted her. The 17-year-old, along with the first runner-up, 27-year-old Yessenia Alfaro, will join a total of 12 ladies at those Reef Grand Finals.

Debbie Zec, a Playa Dominical resident, surfed very well at the Torneo Banco Nacional that weekend. In the Open Women’s category, she came in 3rd place over the returning favorite from Pavones, Laura Pecoraro. And in the Junior Women’s division, she placed 2nd, a respectful position considering 1st was earned by the double threat of Jaco’s Nataly Bernold who is both the current National Women’s and Junior Women’s Champion!

At the next date of the 2007-08 Circuito Nacional de Surf, Torneo, which will take place March 15-16 in Playa Carmen, the next two Miss Surf Natural & Organic girls will be selected.

When all 12 girls are chosen, they will be treated to a unique experience, as they will stay in the luxurious Jaco Beach, Hotel Hotel Doce Lunas.. The girls will participate in sessions of photography around the natural beauty of the area, will offer autographs in the beach during the Circuito Finals, be invited as guests of honor to dinners at famous restaurants of the zone, do adventure sports tours, and finally, participate in the final election that will be carried out in the Hotel where they will be staying in a very special event attended by the public.
