On Wednesday, February 6th, thousands of California residents will gather and rally together at the meeting of the California Coastal Commission at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, to defend San Onofre State Beach Park from being devastated by a private toll road.

05/02/2008:// PLEASE HELP US SAVE SAN ONOFRE, TRESTLES AND SAN MATEO CAMPGROUND. ATTEND THE MEETING AND WRITE TO THE COMMISSIONERS AND HELPS US SAVE SAN ONOFRE!
San Onofre is the 5th most visited California State Park and nationally recognized for its recreational opportunities, however the toll road proposal from the Transportation Corridor Agency threatens the park's preservation by cutting across 4 miles of San Onofre. San Mateo Campground, a wonderful refuge for many of us would be obliterated by the toll road.
The "Foothill Toll Road" project would eliminate 60% of the park and replace it with a six- lane toll road. Studies show that this massive development project will have irreversible impacts on local endangered species, recreational opportunities and water quality. The surf break at Trestles Beach could also be seriously threatened.
WiLDCOAST encourages everyone interested in preserving San Onofre to join us at Coastal Commission hearing. This will be the largest save the coast gathering in the history of California.
